I am the creative director of MYM Theatre Company (Mentoring Young Minds). I am writing today to apply for funding, for our company to create a new project. Mentoring Young Minds (MYM) is a newly established organisation that was solely created to explore how society views the world we live in especially through the eyes of the younger generation. We incorporate the use of combined arts through age-appropriate workshops and productions concluding a versatile range of arts’ professionals. The final number from the production will consist of an ensemble piece, the dance choregraphed by both our professionals and a variety of children/ adolescents (ages 9-14) to allow them to understand their voices are valid. We are devoting this opportunity to these youths- letting them become a part of something, where they express their own individuality to produce something as a collective.
